It was a big thing back when I was a noob and while I wasn't ever mentored I saw it did wonders for the community. I don't think we have to just show noobs games like 3v3 but I think we need a group that can go and show players (who want to listen) how to manage money and how to determine what units to make and what strategies to use. It is best that we educate the community the best we can.

Good program, until Soul went away. I support the reboot of it, but it has to have a dedicated leader., Also not just the mentors should be accountable. The "noobs" have to be willing to actually put in the effort.

I agree, I would love to help lead this effort to revive it into the modern atWar system.

Support! What has worked back then and what hasn't (otherwise it would be still active)? Analysis!

In my opinion, the problem is the lack of interest from newbies.
And I believe it is impossible to make a player play good. Of course, you can help him and give him some ideas and tips on how to expand, defend, etc. But practice is what makes you better over time. Back in the old times, most of the newbies got interested in competitive gameplay or improving. I think Custom Maps was how it all started. It is WAY easier to get SP on Custom Maps than on 3v3 or Default Map.

Dear Pauzer Manteri.

I am a noob. Now that it's said, lemme proove how you underestimate the possible impact of a mentor.
As an a self-taught person, i know how a single help can give me. Reading the guide, learning mecanics, knowing a bit more about strategy really changed my game and i'm only here since 2 or 3 days now. I've already played as 1v6 (fucked coward alliance) and won the game against barely "good" noob. How ? only with the advices and informations i read in thread for that.

So yeah, you're partly true. A part of the newbie and newcomer don't have a lot of interest in the game because they're testing it. But few of them like the game a lot and want to improve themselves.
A mentor should be really useful, but not everyone are fit to follow advice. And the language can cause a lot of problem too.

By reading my post, you can see i'm not an english-speaker, and so i can't say everything i want nor understand everything someone would say to me.

Don't begin with a "Back in the old times", because that's just how you make generalities and kick potential good player in the ass.

Honestly and sincerely.

P.S. : Sorry if my words sounds "harsh" or "angry", i'm absolutly not and i don't have anything against anyone. ^^

Yes; but exactly this is the main objective of the program: to give some inputs, some basic tools, some knowledge for them to develop their own game.
Like in any other discipline, there is theory, basic knowledge and advanced knowledge that has to be put into practice, practice, practice and practice.
