I have noticed a surge in traffic arriving from twitch.tv, and therefore important we utilise this platform and start live streaming games and events. We are in the process of creating an official atWar channel, but any feedback from the community especially from experienced users on how we could make the most from this source of traffic would be great.

I have only until recently heard of it to be honest, I can't see the harm and this can really give the video channel's some meaning as well as promoting tourneys etc with the new tournament engine we are working on.

Twitch is beautiful unlike youtube you can interact with the person producing the content in real time. This could be great for how to videos and things of that nature.

I go on twitch/live streams sometimes, most of these type of games don't get that much traffic because it's a real time turn based game. There is a difference between "Let's plays" & looking at someone beating the clock. Although this is just what i have seen.

1. Use OBS and make sure that before streaming you have good quality/connection 2. If you have another monitor set up the chat there by using the popup window, its good for interacting with the chat despite the 30 second delay 3. Set up chat emotes (twitch really loves them for some reason) 4. Try to talk as much as possible and be entertaining 5. If you're going to listen to music while playing make sure the audio levels are below your mic level so its easy to hear your voice 6. Also to note with music try to use music that most people would find non-annoying or light and easy so electronic music, classical music, rock and rap/pop maybe I'm not really a streaming expert but this is just some things i'd probably watch out for, the problem with twitch though is there will be alot of ghosting meaning that players on the opposite team will come and spectate the twitch stream so even though this will completely kill chat interaction it will prevent ghosting.

It doesnt work like that bro. First you start streaming as a twitch non partner, then if they see you have good amount of viewers (150-200) eqch time you broadcast, then you can apply again to be partner with twich. That would give you a subscription option where viewers can sub on your channel for 5$ and its divided equally between you and twitch.(2.5$ each) . And you will also make chat emotes that subs can use in chat. Also even if youre non partner, you can receive donations on stream and off stream. So what i suggest is that you go ahead and setup the twitch streaming group and lets see how it goes. Aw will get extra money thanks to donations there aswell. Lmk if u have questions

So i'm all for guys streaming on Twitch TV, I would love to watch some "pro" player talk about their thought process during a game, how they approach each turn, and pick up mid to late game tricks (especially if it's phoenix and his super sexy voice). BUT I can see ghosting becoming a big problem, just because of the nature of Atwar. Imagine if someone is live streaming and says something like "rushing Berlin this turn and here is how i'm chaining troops to get there" well if whoever that guy is playing is watching his stream its easy to counter.

I cant even play CW's atm cause of all this connection BS, but it could work for duels or something and if this time delay is real it would be be okay... also, nothing wrong with streaming casual games or scenarios P.S I'm not pro but I can defo teach noobs.

Good point, but twitch already knows this. Twitch gives a streamer default of 30 sec delay, but the streamer can make delay option up to 5 min i think

You won't be accepted untill you make a normal twitch channel and it get popular which to be fair is tough, yoy must reach 10k followers to become a twitch partner. But you can still make a normal twitch account.

If sun and the other admins don't mind, I could give this a shot as soon as my new mic arrives. Could start with some 3v3 on a time delay and see how many people watch. There won't be any swearing or criticism, just tactics and fun. Does anyone know if its possible to host a stream with 2 presenters from different locations?

Yeah that would be cool, I was thinking about maybe interviewing players on their style of play and their experience of the game etc etc, like an interview but also they co host sort of thing for an evening. I'd like it to be approved by an admin first though before, see if theres anything specific they might want covered during the streams or any particular way they might like it to be presented idk.

I could get back into streaming, but I had thought about it a while back. Unless viewers are trying to get better, why would AtWar be fun to watch? But I could always start some hardcore streaming on fridays and weekends/holidays for premium if you know what I am saying. ;)
