Mustafa Kemal(not given the name Ataturk at that time) was a Lieutenant Colonel at Gallipoli Campaign in 1915 therefore he wasn't a significant executive of the empire at that time. So he wasn't involved.

Therefore, he chose to avoid the topic at the early years of the republic because he wanted to distance himself and the country with the Ottoman Empire's legacy. He refers to mass deportations and killings as a "shameful act" and the people that are responsible for them should be punished. The most notable person for giving the orders for "deporting" Armenians, Enver Pasha, was denounced in many occasions by Ataturk. Ataturk seen him as an utopian ultra-nationalist, which later died trying to organise a revolt against Bolsheviks at former Turkestan SSR.

The genocides had 2 phases: The first, larger one, approximately responsible for 80% of the deaths, committed by the Ottoman Empire, and the second one, responisble for approximately 500,000 deaths, committed by the Kemalists.

I agree with andertes, give kosovo back to serbs, or better yet let them take it by themselves because:

a) it weakens serbia since they have to waste their money,resources and time on that shithole

b) we reduce muslim land and population even more
