While reading a bit through balkan's comments, it comes to mind this strange idea that no one really has the real facts about history (it seems like this due to everyone contradicting one another), so why arguing at all?

Isn't that the case with all historical and political debates?

The point is its on purpose. The truth is most of the balkans share very similare culture history and origin apart from albanians greeks and dicians(Romanians) the world knows there ferocity and to prevent a Slavic version of old germany they pitted there people's against one another making sure there will never be a Slavic state in the balkans capable of being a threat. Devide and conquer, simplistic strategy best results.

But in all fairness the United states is only 250 years old, younger then albania even, we have a culture we have a history, and we have independence. The way serbia acts like it owns the balkans is asinine, sure let's say all slavs in the balkans come from serbs, it does not mean they are serbian today, the same way americans are not british, people change, adopt new ideas, they grow into new cultures, the best you all can do is relise your more similare then you ever where or are diferent, your the biproduct of dying imperialism and it's attempts to hold onto your nations. The sooner your relise this and work together the better for all of you.

Ps this is quoted to zeph who is not a slav. It is just I started going and just kept on.

Rather then a one nation balkan empire maybe start an economic union to help your struggling economies. Stop saying you own one another, aND start building the foundations for a better balkans.

I actually studied the subject extensively because I enjoy learning about history, have you ever considered the history you where tought is not entirely true and serves the purpose of instilling pride, nationalism, and resentment twards your neighbors, with the purpose of keeping your people weak pitiful and easily controlled?

I don't understand why you don't even try and dispute my arguement at all, I geuss I'm just wrong because reasons huh?

I'm just following historical documents, we don't falsify history like newly created nations, or destroy statues of countries that doesn't exist anymore. We respect history and will never try to use it to suit our modern political goals like your 'kind' is doing.



Here's a document from Austria Hungary where they view Slovenians and Croats as Serbian subgroup while other name for Serbians is Illyrians.

Members of the Tribe of Gad, some of them, went for Balkan after Jews left Egypt, and they settled Epirus and Dalmatia, their leader was called Illyris and soon whole group started to call themselves that way because they were far away from their original tribe which already settled in Canaan and created Israel. when Slavs arrived on Balkan, largest group of them, the Serbs, mixed with Illyrians, but because of the numbers, Serbian culture and (greek christian) religion prevailed. Therefore, Austria-Hungary acknowledged them as Serbian-Illyrians.

But you keep changing your history and imagine some events, you can dream, but unfortunately that will change your identity to the point you won't know who you are, and your children, thus being vulnerable to new ideas, like the one you hate, liberalism, homosexuality, atheism, terrorism, nazsm.

That document seems to be from the 19th century, all the way up until 20th century Croats, Slovenes and Bosnians were considered illyrian, hence "Serbo- Illyrian", i mean even in the sub categories you have croats mentioned so why even try to use this document when it clearly supports my point?

A little tip for the future, when trying to use any document as evidence you have to look into it from the other perspective.

I was thinking the same while arguing in the Free Palestine thread. Every nation has fed its people their own facts for so long that it's impossible to tell what's really true and what's not. Partially true is the best you can get.

Yes but with the number of false facts out there, being fed to each and every one of us, it is a difficult endeavor to find undisputed facts. Anyway, I looked back and didn't see any post I skipped except the last one with Netzer (I know who he really is, but just for the sake of it, let's call him Netzer) because he gave me a rather hostile and discouraging response. He thinks I'm chickening out of a debate just because I postponed my response. Well, sucks for him, because now I chose to not debate with him, but with you.
