United States military budget is so large if it was a Countries gdp it would be 23rd in the world.

How come the US Military is pretty outdated then ?

Because you don't fix what isn't broken. I'm sure if they ever feel threatened they will invest in innovation.

Abrams are extremely outdated, I've not done much research recently but I doubt they have any projects in the work to update their main battle tank?

the m1 abrams to date is one of the best tanks in the world, it is indeed an old design but they have been modifying it heavily since 2008.

It's not worth the money you're paying for, It's cannon cant even pierce russian tanks.

good thing are tomahawk missles can, our tanks are used for anti terrorism and in coordination with infantry units and air support are very effecive. you act like if the united states went to war with russia we wouldnt just use overwhelming air supperiority like the military always does.

Facts says the opposite
Russia has a big deficit a recession and a poor country like Russia cant be considered as superpower.The only middle classes are located in Moscow and Saint Petersburg while China has already nearly 300-500 million of people considered as middle classes and USA has a great middle class. Middle classes are the most important part of a society and without it any country could considered as a developed country. If you aren't a developed country you cant be even considered as superpower or regional power.
Russia survives thanks to oil, gas and diamonds but this resources are not infinite.
Add to this 10 millions of alcoholics without good jobs which need help, 20 million+ pensioners and an enormous income disequality.
While 100 billionaires are rich thanks to a corrupt monopoly made by Putin the rest of the country is starving to death.
If you cant give food to your soldiers, how they will fight?
The biggest army supply to Russia were Ukrainian army manufacture factories. Now part of their tanks and planes are unusable.
So how a normal person can consider this desperate state a superpower enough to fight China with 13 times more population or USA the richest country in the world?
Most of the nuclear warheads are old as fuck and conserved in unknown conditions.
The only thing does Russia is send planes and soldiers to inestable and poorer countries to try to restore part of its former glory.
China and USA are the new superpowers , Russia is just a regional power nothing more nothing less.

No one said its the best (it is for me personally), but number one superpower.

You see superpower as some orderly sunny nation with happy healthy citizens, i see superpower as someone who gets the job done.

You see superpower an almost bankrupt nation with a lot of society problems which survives thanks to oil and gold.

You are the one who doesn't understand that without economy military is shit. In case of war poor countries like Russia or India could not survive long time.

We are not talking about war...but about achieving geopolitical victories. Superpowers doesn't need to start wars to win. That's the whole point of playing geopolitics, to avoid bloodshed like WW2 because some countries are so big and powerful it can't be destroyed with violence.

Russia is poor with cash, but rich with resources and in wartime, cash is insignificant, you need resources, so Russia is rich in war, poor in peace. Russia is one of the rare - if not the only country - that can wage wars because of availability of resources and skilled manpower who have 1-2 years of military training (30 million males from 20 to 50 age).

Countries that have cash but no resources are doomed in war, like Japan or Germany as their money won't buy them fuel and iron to build tanks, submarines and planes, they will become crippled.

China is nowhere near the US............for now
